Nick and Bekah Scott

United Faith Student Center meant so much to my husband and I during our college years.  My family has been involved for years in the ministry, my parents were even married there!
I credit a lot of my faith and upbringing to what the ministry instilled in us during our college years.
Nick has started a camp at Lake Poinsett for High Schoolers on how God forms a male and female heart, called Wild at Heart.  We have both continued to counsel church camps every summer together as well.
I, Bekah own my own business called Rebekah Scott Designs and get to work at home while raising our family.  We have a little boy, Gus and one to come.
I love what the ministry provides to college students in very crucial years in faith developement and we love tithing to United Faith and seeing it grow as well.
Thank you for being a pillar of faith in college lifestyle, it certainly influenced us and made us who we are.

Being able to have a refuge in my life like the Agape House was great for me while I was at SDSU.  I don't know what I would have done without the friends that I made there!  I know that the relationships that I built while at the Agape House will be remembered everywhere I go, and I will always remember my time there at SDSU and the Agape House!  Being active in the Agape House is some thing that I would recommend to anyone that is feeling like something is missing.  And besides, who wants to turn down a free meal?  I am currently back in my hometown in MN, still looking for a full time job.

Kara Baldwin (Van Nurden is my maiden name), I was married about a year ago at Custer State Park. I have been living in the Black Hills for the last year and worked at Saint Thomas More High School in Rapid City. I was a very busy science teacher, teaching Anatomy/Physiology, AP Biology, Middle School Robotics, and Earth Science. It was a great year at STM and the students were awesome. I was an active member at Canyon Lake UMC where I was a youth leader for 5-8 grades. I also completed Disciple BS there...which everyone should think about doing at sometime!
I still compete in Triathlons and recently did the one in Brookings. I placed 2nd with a time of 82 min! It was a big shocker for me, as my goal was to finish the race in under two hours!
I am now en route to Texas. My husband Alex just got a job with Kiewit Mining and we are off on a new adventure. We will be living in Bryan, TX in an apartment for the next year and will start house hunting and hope to be in our own house by next year this time. I do not have anything lined up in Texas, but have started searching!
The UFCM was the quiet place on campus for me to feel home. I was with the campus ministry as it transitioned into the Agape House. Throughout my time with the ministry, the Agape House was a place to go to for some quiet. It was nice to sit and read or work on assignments or just chat with others. When I first came to the UMSS my sophomore year, I had not been in church for a while, but I reformed my faith through the activities and bible studies. I found Christ again in my life! The Agape House and UFCM was the eye of peacefulness in the hurricane of business during college. I hope it can be the same for many others who attend SDSU!
