Hello! As of July 1st 2010 I am the new Pastor and Director of Campus Ministry at the Agape House, and I am very excited for the spirit-filled worship and fulfilling activities we will do here! I am also quite pleased by my initial impression of the Agape House: this is a place not only for great music and worship and food, but also, it is a relaxing place for study, contemplation, spiritual exploration and fulfillment. Most importantly, the Agape House is open to everyone searching for a way to live out their faith.
I graduated with my Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado this past June, and I am the Associate Minister at Brookings First United Methodist Church, but the bulk of my mission is to the students at SDSU as Campus Minister. I will be keeping regular weekly hours at the Agape House, but also look for me on campus . . . I will most likely be found close to the Dairy Bar where they serve great ice cream!
Welcome to all new and returning students! I look forward to meeting you all. Peace be with you!

Peggy Eggers - Administrative Assistant
I have been the administrative assistant for the student ministry for 10 years now. I’ve loved this ministry since I was introduced to it when I was a senior in high school. I couldn’t wait to become a part of the ministry. I met my husband through this ministry and were married in the chapel when the ministry was located across the street. We have been married for 37 years now and have four great kids. We also have two grandchildren and one on the way in February, Gus, Olive, and ?. Needless to say, they are the light of our lives.
I was very excited to become a part of this ministry again when we moved back east river after living in Philip, SD for 25 years. Watching students “live their faith” in a university setting is always rewarding. It’s always sad to see them graduate, but also exciting to see what they do with their faith when they leave here. We get to touch their lives for such a short time, but always hope they learned something here they can take with them for a lifetime.
I am also employed by Brookings First United Methodist as their visitor coordinator and new member coordinator, so obviously, I love meeting new people.
Stop in and say hi, I rarely forget a face or name!
In Christ’s Service,
Peggy
Jacob Laird - Co-Chair
Hey friends, this is your Co-Chair Jacob Laird, thanks for stopping by my page. If you know me, I’m crazy about helping others grow in their faith and helping to spread God’s word. If you don’t know me then you should get involved in our growing ministry and meet great lifetime friends along the way. There is no greater feeling than when you are surrounded by fellow believers who not only want to grow in their own faith but want to help you grow in your faith as well.
A little about me, I grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota where I lived all my life before coming to the great SDSU campus. I’m currently in my sophomore year working towards my BS in Electrical Engineering Technology. I became involved with the United Faith Campus Ministry at the start of my freshman year here. It has been one awesome experience. It is a great ministry to get involved in because we are a growing ministry, so the possibilities are endless. Come check us out and I guarantee you won’t regret it.
My Job as Co-Chair is simple, to serve my fellow classmates. I was elected by the students of our ministry to serve as a leader for anything that comes up. As Co-Chair I’m responsible for planning, organizing, and performing all of our events and activities throughout the school year and during the summer. I’m also in charge of our student bank account. So I keep track of, and manage all our ministries funds. Along with this, I collaborate with the other Coordinators of the ministry, as well as the Campus Committee. This job is too much for one person to handle, so between me and my fellow Co-Chair we divide and conquer. This makes it easier for us to give you an even better experience with our ministry. I recommend checking out the other leadership team members’ pages as well.
If you’re looking for a new home away from home for your college experience, this ministry is perfect for you. I have made tons of new friends who all share the same passion for their faith as I do. The United Faith Campus Ministry is a great place to get involved with the best people you will ever meet in college. I would love to meet you and chat. If you come to any of our activities, I will be the one greeting you with a kind smile and warm handshake.
If you would like to contact me about anything at all, whether it be the about the ministry, life struggles, or just a quick question, my email is jjlaird@jacks.sdstate.edu. I check it regularly and will get back to you as soon as possible. I will do everything I can to help.
Hey Y'all, I’m Taylor Johnson. Thanks for checking out my page. I'm the other Co-Chair of the ministry along with Jacob Laird .
I'm a freshman here at State, and I'm really enjoying the ride. Formerly a psychology major, I switched to a Political Science major, as it seems to be a little easier for me, and I’m very interested in PolySci anyway. I hope to pursue a career in ministry, whether that be ordination with the conference or playing music.
My job as a Co-Chair is to help others grow in their faith by being the best example of Christ I can possibly be. Since my freshman year of high school, I’ve had some sort of leadership role in the church and had a desire to be a pastor. This position only helps reassure that possibility and makes it seem more real. I really enjoy being part of the worship team at the Agape as well as in Sioux Falls with my church. Along with that, I play in a band and write songs as well as play guitar!
A little bit about me, I was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated from Lincoln High School, Go Pats!!! My home church is First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls where I began my faith journey and met some of my best friends. I’ve got Mom, Dad, Stepmom, Stepdad, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters, and WAY too many cousins to count (makes Christmas shopping quite interesting :p) I rely heavily on my friends and family for everything in life. Next to God and my relationship with Christ, they are my strength, wisdom, love, and faith. I love hanging out with friends, playing Madden against my roommate Tom, and just relaxing.
I first came to the Agape when Matt introduced me to it. I was a senior in high school, and we met on the Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM). He told me about campus ministries, and since I was in the process of making a decision for college, I figured I’d give it a shot. Lucky for me, I was introduced to some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Even in one short semester, I have learned so much about not only my faith, but leadership, responsibility, and commitment.
I look forward to the years to come and to watch this ministry and those involved grow in so many ways and make an impact on this community!
If you ever have any questions, need a prayer concern, need someone to talk to, or if you’re just bored and want somebody to hang out with, email me at packfan7711@hotmail.com or Text or call at 605-413-8851.
Hi! I’m Lacy Clements and I am the Communication Coordinator. As the Communication Coordinator, I do my best to keep the website up to date, inform students all around campus to the goings-on of the House, and serve as a direct contact to the Campus Minister and the Co-Chairs. My freshman year, I went to Black Hills State. They did not have a campus ministry, so part of the reason I transfered to SDSU was because of this ministry. I love being able to be a part of everything that goes on in the house and being able to serve others. I look forward to the nights I spend at the Agape House, for Bible Study, Worship, or even just movie nights! Right now I am working on my BS degree in Economics specialization in Business.. If you need to get ahold of me, you can email me at clements08@hotmail.com. Thanks for checking out our website!
May God be with you everyday, and your studies go well!!
Lacy K. Clements
Kaylee Chester Alex Oppold - Worship Coordinators
Hey there! My name is Kaylee and I'm a freshman at SDSU this year. I have lived in Sioux Falls my entire life until this last fall, when I ventured a whole 45 minutes away from home. My major is Psychology and I intend on going to grad school and getting my doctorate so I can end up being a child psychologist (wish me luck!). Some of my hobbies are dancing, singing, talking (sometimes more than I should), and listening to music. I have recently taken on the position of a worship coordinator with my fiance at the Agape House and am looking forward to using my passion for music and orgainzation skills to serve the Lord. There are many exciting opportunities in store and I hope to see many of you get involved in the misitry this semester!
Hi, I'm Alex. This is my first semester up here at State. I am originally from Missouri but have lived in Sioux Falls most of my life. I spent the last summer in San Antonio, TX & Bilox, MS for Air Force Basic Training & Tech School. And I am now a member of the 114th Fighter Wing in Sioux Falls. I have been a member of a Christian band for the past two years and that is still going great. Up at State, I'm trying to major in Theater Production and eventually combine that with my love for music. In SuFu I help lead worship at First United Methosdist and am now a Co-Worship Coordinator here in Brookings for the Campus Ministry. My faith isn't as strong as I would like it and hope tha tmy experience here can help me along the way.
Chris Ragels - Fundrasing Coordinator
My name is Christopher Ragels, though most people who know me will call me just Chris or Ragels. I am a sophomore here at SDSU. I have truly fallen in love with this campus and the people that are here to support me. I'm majoring in nursing and am currently working on getting back into the Air Force ROTC. I am the Fund-raiser coordinator at the Agape house. It has been far more than a pleasure to be able to go to the church house to unwind and worship with friends, really family, every week.
Megan Reuwsaat - Outreach Coordinator
My name is Megan and I am a freshman at SDSU. I am not sure what I would like to major in, so I have been focusing on general classes. I first heard about the Agape House from pastor Matt. He got me interested in getting involved with the ministry and that is now why I've chosen to take on the Outreach Coordinator position.
Ashley Dailie - Wellness Coordinator
Hey everyone! My name is Ashley Dailie and I am a freshman at SDSU. I am a nursing major, minoring in nutrition. After nursing school, l plan get my doctorate degree and to become a family nurse practitioner.
